Details on the much rumoured Samsung Galaxy Alpha have emerged thanks to a British retailer seemingly jumping the gun on publishing the sales page for the device.

In a good spot by PhoneArena, if the details are accurate, it appears as though the Galaxy Alpha will have a 4.7″ AMOLED (720p) display, with a pixel density of 320ppi, an octa-core Exynos processor 5433 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of memory built in. Camera-wise, there will be a 12MP on the rear and 2MP on the front. So far, so ho-hum – perhaps the big news is what the case will be made from.

Word is that the case will be one of the first Samsung devices will have a metallic design – which should make the whole experience feel a bit classier. Many analysts argue that Samsung has stumbled recently because it continues to make phones from cheap-feeling plastic, whilst all of the cool kids (HTC and the like) are making their phones from metal.

Unsurprisingly though, it looks like this will all come at a price – with the phone listed on the retailer’s website at £549 SIM free. Yikes.
