An Apple rumour du jour. Today we’re hearing that Apple has already began production of new iPads in its factories.

According to Bloomberg, the new iPads – which we’re expecting to be announced in October – will come in both 9.7″ and 7.9″ variations, same as the iPad Mini. So this is probably going to be the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Unfortunately we don’t have any new concrete details other than “new versions are coming” – but we probably expect them to be a bit faster and a bit shinier than last year’s models – and will probably come sporting the TouchID fingerprint recognition we’ve seen in the iPhone 5S.

Bloomberg has speculated that because the devices are going into production now, we can expect the new iPads either later this year (most likely) or early next year (which would miss Christmas).

We’ll let you know when we hear more.
