It begins: Google Maps updates to add Android Wear support

An update has been pushed out updating Google Maps on Android devices to be ready for Android Wear devices. Expect to see every other app updating soon.
According to Android Police, Maps 8.1.1 adds the ability to send instructions to the app (presumably by voice) as well as navigate using your watch alone.
The update marks one of the first apps to gain official Android Wear support following the official Android Wear unveiling at Google’s IO conference last week.
Expect every other app you’ve downloaded to be updating for similar reasons soon.
