Strava have done something amazing - and managed to gamify commuting. When you’re biking into the office, switch on Strava and it’ll log your location, your speed and your elevation - which is then uploaded on to the Strava website. There you can not only get interesting stats on your journey - for example you can see a chart of the elevation along the journey, explaining why you were gasping for breath during that particularly long uphill section. What’s really cool though is that you can then compare your time on different sections of your journey with other Strava users, and find where you rank. Strava have split up the world into different short sections - so you can compare with people who didn’t go entirely the same way as you - so, for example, you can see who managed to cross Waterloo Bridge the fastest. And of course - if you use Strava a lot, you can use it to work out how far you’re biking and get some cool monthly and weekly graphs to show off about how much exercise you’re getting. If you’re a cyclist - you really need this app!
