Released last year but lacking the triple-A marketing punch of GTA or Call of Duty, Sleeping Dogs whilst successful, still has the feel of a sleeper hit. In GTA-style open world Hong Kong, you play Detective Wei Shen, fighting to take down the criminal underworld… whilst risking becoming corrupted by it in the process. It looks great, has an engaging plot and the best melee combat controls I’ve ever seen in this sort of game (you can do kung-fu!) - and I strongly recommend picking it up if it passed you by. And here’s the best bit for British gamers: finally a game where you get to drive on the left.
You know what it’s like – you spend long enough in one place and eventually you’ll want a change of scene. I don’t know about you, but since GTA5 was released – I’ve spent far more time than be healthy pounding the streets of Los Santos. Maybe it’s time for a holiday – so here’s five more games to try once you’re bored of GTA5.
