O2-645x250.jpgO2 have become the latest UK network to reveal their 4G pricing structure, and will be looking to tempt potential EE and new 4G Vodafone customers towards their mobile flock with free gaming, sports and music deals.

O2’s 4G network will begin its rollout on August 29, with 4G tariffs starting at £26 a month, matching Vodafone’s cheapest offering. All O2 4G deals come with unlimited minutes and texts, free access to 9,000 O2 Wi-Fi hotspots and VIP use of the network’s Priority Moments for live events. Only 4G data bundles differ across deals, affecting the price.

O2’s SIM-Only 4G packages kick off at the £26 mark, which bags you all of the above plus 1GB of 4G data usage. SIM-only 4G deals with O2 max out at £36 a month, which gives customers 5GB of data. Any additional data requirements can be purchased as bolt-ons, costing £6 a month for each additional 500MB, or £10 a month for each additional 1GB.

The O2 Refresh service will also allow existing customers to upgrade to a 4G phone. According to O2:

“Airtime plans for O2 Refresh start from £22 a month for 1GB of data, and go up to £37 for 8GB. Customers have the flexibility to choose a 4G device at a price per month that suits them. The monthly device payment will range from £10 to £25, dependent on how a customer chooses to pay for one of over 10 4G-ready devices in O2’s range.”

All 4G bundles will also come with exclusive access to a range of music, sport and gaming content. For music lovers, O2’s 4G Music Tracks offers playlist, video and Top 40 streaming free for 12 months with 4G bundles. Sports fans grab access to Priority Sports video content on the move, including behind the scenes action from world-class teams, events and venues including O2’s England Rugby sponsorship, Twickenham Stadium and NBA Live at The O2, as well as offering a range of fitness tips, updated weekly. Lastly, gamers will be able to play top Gameloft mobile titles including Asphalt 8: Airborne, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour and Zombiewood multiplayer over 4G without eating into their data allowances. Unlike Vodafone, where customers are forced to choose between Spotify music of Sky Sports mobile sports coverage, O2 customers will get access to all the music, gaming and sporting content listed above.

O2 4G PAYG and mobile broadband tariffs will launch before the end of the year, with the network promising to share more details soon.
