BlackBerry A10 caught on camera – white case and curvy edges move away from Z10 design

blackberry-a10-leak.jpgThe first spyshot of the rumoured new BlackBerry flagship phone, the BlackBerry A10, has leaked online.

The handset was first revealed yesterday by BGR sources, and this new shot supports yesterday’s claims that the handset would sport a design less angular than its BlackBerry Z10 predecessor. The corners are more rounded, while the white casing is an unusual departure from BlackBerry’s traditionally-black flagship handsets.

A leaked shot of one of the handset’s settings screens also reveals that “A” in the “A10” stands for Aristo, a less formal term for aristocrat, perhaps showing BlackBerry’s intentions to court the premium end of the market with the phone.

Worryingly though, despite housing a 5-inch display, the A10 is said to have a lowly screen resolution of just 1024 x768 – nowhere near the pixel density of rival full HD 1080p flagship handsets. Paired with reports that the handset is packing a dual-core processor, as opposed to the quad and octo-cores found in Samsung’s top-tier Android handsets, BlackBerry’s next flagship is still reaching for a headline feature.

And the handset will need to impress. It’s been a rough old week for, BlackBerry following the company’s latest earnings call which revealed the company made a loss over the first financial quarter of 2014. CEO Thorsten Heins soon afterwards admitted that the Z10’s launch was flawed.

We’ll have more on the BlackBerry A10 as fresh details come in.
