NOKIA-Phablet-375x500.jpgNokia have just released their largest smartphone to date in the shape of the 4.7-inch Lumia 625, but it seems the Finnish company has its sights set on something even bigger.

A 6-inch display panel bearing the Nokia logo has appeared in a spyshot snapped on a Chinese factory floor, and picked up by accurate leaker IC Tech.

While it adds greater credence to rumours that Nokia are working on a true “phablet” device, what’s not certain is whether or not it’ll have the high-end specs to take on the likes of Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra and upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Take the recently released Lumia 625, for instance – though the company’s largest handset, its internal specs are at best middling, and the screen resolution lowly.

Much of the focus has returned to Nokia’s camera tech, with the Lumia 925’s low light shooting and Lumia 1020’s PureView 41MP camera sensor stealing the headlines. We’d be surprised if this new 6-inch wannabe supplants Nokia’s current flagships.
