snapdragon-800-qualcomm-top.jpgLG have confirmed that they will be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processors in their forthcoming Optimus G series phones.

The chipset, still yet to be seen in a consumer device, is one of (if not the) most powerful mobile processor available, capable of outputting 4K video, running each of its four cores at 2.3GHz, and decoding 7.1 audio signals alongside UHD content. It’s a beast.

“With a powerful combination of LG’s core smartphone technologies and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, we are taking a significant step forward in the mobile experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

“The result of this collaboration will in many ways be the industry’s best smartphone by which all other devices will be measured.”

No word yet on what else to expect from the LG Snapdragon-800 touting smartphone – not a name, price, release date, zilch. But as far as early announcements go, this one should be getting you excited for it.
