Pop trio TLC are to take to the stage for a string of reunion shows this year, and will be joined onstage by a hologram of deceased singer Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes.

Following in the beyond-the-grave tech showmanship first seen with Tupac Shakur’s mesmerising hologram return from the afterlife at Coachella Festival in California last year, the Waterfalls stars will take their futuristic voodoo to the 2013 Mixtape Festival at Hersey Park Stadium in Pennsylvania on July 26 and 27.

“The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago,” said the group’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.

Following the Tupac hologram, it was something that Thomas had teased a year earlier:

“It will be hard on us but I certainly think our fans would love to see it. We would definitely be the first group to ever do it.

“I think we would probably pass out and all of our fans would break down but it’s amazing how real the hologram looks, it’s almost like you can touch the person.”

Lopes was the troubled fan favourite of the group, battling alcohol problems before her untimely death, dying from injuries sustained in a serious car crash in 2002.

In case you need any reminder, here is that insane Tupac hologram clip one more time:
