Asda have joined game among the first high-street retailers to offer pre-order deals on the forthcoming PlayStation 4 console from Sony.
Though still without a firm release date beyond “Holiday 2013”, a £20 deposit at the supermarket will ensure you’ll get the console on its day of release, whenever that turns out to be.
Head over to the direct.asda.com page to get in on the deal, which essentially offers a £20 pre-order voucher at Asda Direct when you check out, to be redeemed against the end cost of the console when it eventually is released.
“By purchasing this pre-order, you are reserving a Sony PlayStation 4 console at launch,” says the retailer in a statement.
“We will send you a unique discount code worth £20, which you will need to use to complete the purchase of a Sony PlayStation 4 when they go on sale on the Asda Direct Web Site.
“Customers using their unique pre-order discount code will be sent their Sony PlayStation 4 first and before other regular orders. You will need to keep this code safe until you need to use it. The code can only be used online on the Asda Direct web site.”
Like Sony, Asda are pinning the console on a “Christmas 2013” release. Multiple different launch bundles will be available, and setting a pre-order now will give you your choice of bundle upon release.
