lg-optimus-g-pro.jpgIt hasn’t even hit the shelves yet, but LG have already got an axe to grind over Samsung’s newly revealed Samsung Galaxy S4.

The Korean tech giants are now said to be at loggerheads over the Galaxy S4’s eye-tracking features, primarily the Smart Pause feature that halts video playback when a user looks away. LG are claiming that it infringes on a patent filed for the Optimus G Pro’s Smart Video feature, which also pauses video playback when a user looks away.

LG are claiming that Samsung’s technology infringes upon a patent it has held since 2009, and that the Galaxy S4’s other eye-tracking features may also infringe upon patents they’ve held as far back as 2005.

Of course Samsung are denying the allegations, claiming the Galaxy S4 uses proprietary technologies that they’ve developed in-house.

It’s the latest in a string of patent arguments between the pair, with Samsung and LG recently settling out of court on suits pertaining to various OLED and LCD TV technology patents.
