pure-jongo.jpgPure’s multi-room audio assault of Sonos’s monopolised market continues with their expansion of the Jongo range at this year’s CES conference. The Jongo T640B stereo wireless speaker and Jongo A140B wireless hi-fi adapter are the new additions making their debut at the Las Vegas event.

Looking firstly at the T640B, it’s a wireless stereo speaker that can be paired with existing Jongo kit or can be used to set up a new audio network. Wire-free apart from a power supply, it uses Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to steam music from a smartphone, tablet or computer around your house, with a 100 watt output delivering room-filling sound.

Two custom 5-inch full range driver units push the sound, with dual-concentric tweeters designed to give a clear, balanced sound.

Due out before the summer and available in a wide range of colours, you’re looking at a price tag of £249.99 for the T640B.

Moving onto the A140B, it’s a wireless hi-fi adapter that lets you turn any old stereo unit into a Wi-Fi multi-room streaming device, hooking up over coaxial digital or dual phono analogue outputs and receiving streamed tracks over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and pushing them through a 24-bit DAC. It’ll cost £99.99 and is expected to launch alongside the T640B.
