Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 stylus-packing tablet hits UK stores today, and to mark the occasion the South Korean tech giants held a star-studded launch event attended by pop royalty Kylie Minogue among other stars.
Kylie played a surprise set at the event, including hits Wow, Wow, Wow, Better The Devil You Know and Can’t Get You Out Of My Head. She took to the stage wearing a framework dress made in part out of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets, made by the designer Matthew Williamson, who was also in attendance.
As well as pop royalty there was genuine British royalty at the event too, as Equestrian silver medallist and granddaughter of the Queen, olympian Zara Phillips, was also at the event. With Samsung a sponsor of Team GB, Philips was joined by fellow London 2012 British athletes including gold medallists Victoria Pendleton and Laura Trott.
Hosted by Vernon Kaye, the celebrity-packed guest list was rounded off by Kelly Brook, actor Matthew Goode, Bond Girl Rosamund Pike, musician Charlie Simpson, magician Dynamo, actor Noel Clarke and Eliza Doolittle.
The event was designed to highlight the creative possibilities of the Galaxy Note 10.1, which uses a the S-Pen stylus for handwriting recognition and image editing, as demonstrated by Clarke and Brook.
Available now from £399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1’s specs include a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.9-megapixel front, and a microSD slot for up to 32GB of storage expansion.
