samsung-ativ-tab.jpgLike Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range, but not a massively big fan of Android? Then you may wan’t to check out their latest slate, the Windows 8 RT Samsung ATIV Tab, freshly revealed at IFA 2012.

A 10.1 inch tablet, it runs Microsoft’s hotly-anticipated new OS, and comes complete with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT preview. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 4S processor sits under the hood, powering the show.

Measuring just 8.9mm and weighing 570g, it’s a more traditional tablet than many Windows 8 devices we’ve seen so far, including Samsung’s own keyboard-packing ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro gear, also revealed at IFA.

There’s also USB and uHDMI ports onboard. The tablet will also be fully compatible with any Windows 8 peripheral you care to think of, including keyboards, projectors and games controllers. If you’ve ever wanted to hook your wired Xbox 360 controller up to a tablet, here’s your chance.

An 8,200 mAh should see the device ticking over for a few days worth of average usage too.

No release date or pricing details have been offered so far by Samsung, but expect the ATIV tab to land close to the October 26 release date penned in for Windows 8.
