iPhone5_assembled-1.jpgPiecing together what to expect from the Apple iPhone 5 smartphone has been like arranging the sections of a jigsaw puzzle. Leaks so far have revealed many different components and casings expected to feature in the device, but never a whole handset.

Until now that is. Chinese repair shop iLab claim to have gotten their hands on the completed, assembled iPhone 5 hardware.
iPhone5_assembled-2.jpgHowever it doesn’t reveal anything that we didn’t already (think!) we know. There’s the oft-rumoured smaller dock connector on the base sitting between a speaker grille and 3.5mm headphone too, moved from it’s upper edge position on the iPhone 4S, 4 and 3GS.

The screen looks larger and longer, rumoured to be in the region of 4-inches, while the front facing camera moves to a more central position. In terms of looks, a two-tone metal and black glass style again matches previous rumours, with the overall design being thinner and lighter.

Of course, as we’ve stated before it wouldn’t be incredibly difficult for anyone with a knowledge of the rumours and access to a workshop to knock together a fake case, but at the very least this is a good indication of what to expect.

Roll on September, when Apple are expected to lift the covers off the real deal.

  • Yes, boring. Let’s hope iOS shines bright, but I’m not getting my hopes up. It will probably more of the same….

  • Same old phone for how many years again ?. Boring, try the SGS 3 it will exceed every aspect of this phone. I have not seen a single person who regretted the switch from 4S.
