fujifilm-finepix-f800-top.jpgFujifilm’s latest compact camera, the Finepix F800, has a few tricks up its sleeve that should see it stand out from the competition when it hit shelves this September.

As well as packing in a 16-megapixel BSI EXR-CMOS sensor and Fujinon 20x optical zoom (offering a 25mm wide-angle to 500mm telephoto equivalent), it also pairs up with your smartphone or tablet, using a built-in Wi-Fi connection in tandem with a bespoke Fujifilm Photo Receiver app to deliver as many as 30 images at a time to your touchscreen devices.

It’s a novel attempt by Fujifilm to fend off the rise of the smartphone camera, with the system allowing users to quickly upload high quality snaps to Facebook and Twitter.

Elsewhere, the camera also boots up in 1.5 seconds, can capture consecutive shots in just 0.8 seconds, houses a 40x digital zoom, a 3-inch rear preview display and is also capable of shooting 1080p video.

With the apps landing alongside the camera in September, those interested in the F800 will be able to snap it up for a reasonable £279.
