mass-effect-3-poster.jpgBioWare have released an extended, revised ending for Mass Effect 3 for the Xbox 360.

One of the most-talked about games of the year, it was universally praised but garnered almost equally universal scorn from gamers who felt the final scenes bringing the trilogy to an end were a little lacklustre.

BioWare agreed to go back to the drawing board and rework the ending of their sci-fi epic, and the results have now been made available to the public.

We haven’t had a chance to see the ending yet (we’re at work guys, cut us some slack!), but are eager to see what BioWare have come up with. It must have been hard for them to have to go back and revise their original vision, but if it quells the rage of some Mass Effect fanboys out there, it can’t be all bad.

Fire up your Xbox 360 and hit the marketplace to get the download going. Note that it’s a fairly big 1.85 GB however, so you might have to wait a little longer to see the extended conclusion to Shepherd’s fate.

No word yet on when the extra content will land for PC or PS3 gamers.
