Connecting to your home network over Wi-Fi, and set up simply by plugging the camera into a USB port, the camera will let you view what’s happening in your home on a smartphone, tablet or laptop, recording HD video at 15 fps in 960 x 720 resolution.

With a 130-degree wide-angle view, the camera also has night vision capabilities, illuminating shady characters up to 50 feet away, and a motion sensor, meaning the system will only notify you of suspicious behaviour when it detects someone on the prowl. An email alert can be set up if someone is caught snooping where they shouldn’t be too.

The Logitech Alert 750n Indoor Master System will be available for £299. A secondary camera for other rooms called the Logitech Alert 700n Add-On Camera can also be bought for £249. Both will be in stores by the end of May.
