galaxy-s3-vs-iphone.jpgThe end of the mobile patent war may finally be drawing to a close, as Samsung have showed signs that they are ready to enter into a compromise over certain intellectual properties with Apple.

The two tech companies have been duking it out in the courts for what seems like aeons now, with both parties believing the other has infringed upon the their patents.

However, under pressure from the courts and ahead of a court-ordered meeting between the two companies on Monday, Samsung’s head of mobile JK Shin has suggested that an agreement between the two parties may be approaching, saying that: “There is still a big gap in the patent war with Apple but we still have several negotiation options including cross-licensing.”

A cross-licensing deal would see the two parties sharing patents and intellectual properties for the greater good of both firms, something that weary tech journos and IP judges alike would appreciate.

However, with Apple standing firm that Samsung “blatantly copied” the iPhone and iPad with their Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Tab devices, the squabbling may not be over yet.

  • Apple is currently the best, and of course people want to follow what they do. The iPad is aesthetically pleasing, and might be the nicest electronic I have ever used. Why wouldn’t other companies copy some aspect! Copying is the highest form of flattery!
