Apple adding multi-user support to iPad?

new-ipad-3-08.jpgApple may be considering adding support for multiple user accounts to the iPad with a future update, it has been revealed.

Traditionally against offering the ability to attach more than one Apple user account to their mobile devices (mo’ individually owned iPhones and iPods, mo’ money, right?) Apple may be set to change their policy when it comes to the iPad. A more communal, stay at home device, it’s a feature that would surely be appreciated by the many families that share iPads.

Though it wasn’t strictly a bug, an unnamed developer used Apple’s Bug Reporter to highlight the lack of multiple-user support. It makes the fact that Apple replied at all all the more interesting, let alone that the following reply given seems so positive:

“After further investigation it has been determined that this is a known issue, which is currently being investigated by engineering,” said the official response from Apple Developer Connection’s Worldwide Developer Relations, according to Apple Insider.

Sure, it sounds like a stock, automated response, but with so many bug fix requests going unanswered, someone must have green-lit this answer being sent. Which suggests that, a little way down the line, you and your mum can live in partitioned harmony on the household iPad.
