motorola-razr-maxx.jpgMotorola’s RAZR makeover, the Motorola RAZR MAXX, will hit UK stores in mid-May.

The main difference over the first build of the Android RAZR is the new, larger capacity battery, which boasts 17.6 hours of talk time, able to “handle even the most demanding lifestyle” according to Motorola.

Apart from adding a few millimetres to accommodate the new battery, it’s pretty much the same RAZR we reviewed at the tail end of last year; there’s 1GB RAM and a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display and a super-tough KEVLAR fibre casing and Gorilla Glass screen combo.

“Since we re-imagined the iconic RAZR brand, the Motorola RAZR has wowed consumers across the globe by combining the pinnacle of design with mind-blowing power,” said Victoria McManus, UK marketing director, Motorola Mobility.

“RAZR MAXX builds on those same principles, delivering an incredible battery life that is perfect for people who want to push their smartphone to the limits and banish the low battery beep to history.”

The handset is up for pre-order now from Clove and Expansys.

  • Finally, we can use our phones as much as we want the whole day, without the need to recharge it mid-day. iPhone or others wouldn’t be able to keep up till evening with heavy use, e.g. near constant use for hours when traveling…
Or with light use you get 3-5 days…
Yet another usage scenario is when you share your 3G connection via wifi, which would drain a “normal” phone quickly…

  • Abount time there was a decent phone with a decent battery life. The batteries on my Galaxy S2 and Iphone 3GS seem to last 24-48 hours at the most before the battery is flat. Thats with maybe 30 minutes talk time and an hour of web browsing (plus emails).
