jobs-kutcher.jpgAshton Kutcher has reportedly been cast to play the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in an independent biopic about the technology giant’s early life.

Called simply “Jobs“, the movie will focus on the former CEO’s life leading up to the co-founding of Apple, with production beginning in May. Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote, Neverwas) will be sitting in the director’s chair.

Kutcher is no tech luddite; following Jobs’ death, he took to Twitter on his iPhone, quoting th man himself saying: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. – Steve Jobs RIP”.

Likewise, Jobs himself was an instrumental figure in the movie industry, as well as technology circles. He was the one-time owner of Pixar, and is listed as the executive producer on the original Toy Story.

Jobs” will go up against an as-yet-unnamed Sony-funded Steve Jobs biopic based on the biography by Walter Isaacson. It is rumoured to star Ralph Fiennes.
