Diablo III is delayed yet again

Bad news, dungeon-crawling fans; the long awaited hack-and-slash RPG Diablo III will now miss its early 2012 release window.

Diablo III publishers Activision, as part of their financial reports, yesterday revealed that Diablo III has slipped from its initial Q1 2012 release window to Q2, meaning it’ll eventually (hopefully) be released at some point between April and June of this year.

Diablo III, developed by World of Warcraft gaming powerhouse Blizzard, was first slated for a 2011 release, and had even been pinned to a February 1st release at one point. However, a host of new changes, and a potential console version for the PS3 and/or Xbox 360, are now thought to have slowed production.

Activision also revealed that the delay now means that only one other Blizzard title will be released this year, despite both Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (as well as a number of unnamed projects) being in the works.
