Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 device, the Lumia 800 (pictured), may only just be hitting shops, but a loose-lipped executive has revealed that a successor is already waiting in the wings.

Nokia France’s Paul Amsellem, speaking to French newspaper LesEchos, was speaking of how the company aimed to regain its 2009 French smartphone market share of 25% (now standing at 16%).

Not particularly exciting. However, Amsellem then went on to compare the Lumia 800 to BMW tiered motor models.

“It’s just the equivalent of the BMW 5 Series. We will soon have a full range with a Series 7 and Series 3,” he cryptically said.

In short, a souped-up Lumia is almost certainly in the works, and could be available sooner than you’d think.

The “Series 3” model on the other-hand ahs already been rumoured many times, with many sites outing the Lumia 710 as a possible cheaper version.

Also known as the Nokia Ace, it’s said to feature a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen, 8MP AutoFocus camera with Carl Zeiss lens, 1.4Ghz processor, HSPA+ connectivity , 16GB of storage and an 1800mAh battery.

Amsellem also revealed that a Nokia Windows 8 tablet is being developed, with a loose June 2012 launch date planned.
