xbox-kinect-games.jpgMicrosoft’s Xbox 360 motion-sensing add-on, the Kinect, celebrates its first birthday this week, and with it the news that sales of the unit have now topped 10 million.

Now admittedly this shows a steep slowing of sales of the Kinect; it managed to sell 8 million units in just its first 60 days on sale. But 10 million units is still a very healthy figure, and likely something approaching critical mass for console that has tradtionally been aimed at a hardcore, controller-wielding audience.

To celebrate the news, a new Kinect bundle will be shipping in time for Christmas. Packing together three games (Fruit Ninja, Gun Stringer and Kinect Adventures) as well as the sensor itself, it’ll cost $149.

As of writing this post, the deal is currently only appearing on Amazon.com as a limited time offer, but we’d be surprised if it didn’t make its way to UK shores in a similar form.

Note that if you are going for that bundle, Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja are downloadable games, meaning you’d best have a hard drive installed with your Xbox 360 on which to save them.
