Steve Jobs.jpgSony Pictures are looking into making a Steve Jobs movie, based on the forthcoming authorized biography “Steve Jobs” by former CNN chairman and Time Magazine managing editor Walter Isaacson.

Deadline are reporting that the studio are lining up a $3 million deal to grab the rights to Steve Jobs, with Mark Gordon planned as the flick’s producer.

Jobs’ biography is one of the most sought after properties in Hollywood, with the book making it briefly into Amazon’s top 50 bestsellers list before it was even completed. Originally planned for a November 21st 2011 launch, the book has now been pushed forward to October 24th, following the Apple maestro’s recent passing.

Sony Pictures seem a fairly well placed studio to take on the project. Though parent umbrella copany Sony may see Apple as direct hardware rivals, the studio did stellar work on other business focussed movies such as The Social Network and Moneyball.

Only one movie has previously depicted Jobs on screen before. That was 1999’s made-for-TV film Pirates Of Silicon Valley, with Noah Wyle starring as a young Steve Jobs.
