Microsoft are hoping to turn your Xbox 360 console not only into your living room’s gaming hub, but also your video entertainment hub too, as they’ve just announced a wealth of new major programming partners for an updated VOD offering.

The already-present Zune Marketplace and Sky services will be joined by 4oD, BBC, Lovefilm and Blinkbox (with more titles than any other UK movie streaming service) on the console, making it a veritable VOD powerhouse.

With VOD (apart from Blu-Ray support) being one of the few bonuses the PS3 had over the Xbox 360, Microsoft’s big push here seems well placed.

“The launch of blinkbox on Xbox 360 means that we can bring our huge library of blockbuster movies to even more people across the UK, giving them yet another way access their favourite entertainment,” said Michael Comish, CEO and co-founder of Blinkbox.

“Whether on PC, connected TV or console, our customers are now even closer to an amazing entertainment experience.”

A ton of other VOD partners were also announced. You can see them all by clicking here.
