Ace handset may be the card up Nokia's WP7 sleeve

nokia-ace-thumb.jpgLooks as though Nokia have another Windows Phone 7 device tucked away ready for an eventual release this year. The Nokia Ace, as it’s rumoured to be called, is looking a fairly meaty handset for those waiting for the struggling Finnish phone giants to come up trumps.

With a 4.3 AMOLED screen, 1.4GHz processor, 8MP Carl Zeiss camera, latest Mango WP7 build and HSPA+ connectivity, Nokia may be finally getting their act together if the specs prove to be more than just careless whispers.

Still, we’ve been left burned by Nokia’s recent handset releases, with the N8 a particular let down. The Windows Phone tie-in is long awaited and holds out a lot of possibility for some great handsets, but Nokia are going to have to really deliver to regain the consumer confidence they lost with the rise of the smartphone.

They’re going to have to do something cool, and I suppose you can make a far worse start than taking at least a hint of inspiration from these bad-ass mofos:

Taking a leaf out of Lemmy’s “Book of Life” wouldn’t be a bad thing for the arguably-dying Nokia; at the end of the world only cockroaches and the undead Motorhead maestro will be left alive.
