Xbox Live for Windows 8 confirmed
Xbox Live is headed to Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system. Xbox Live executive and host of platform’s video previews in the US Major Nelson confirmed the news on his blog during the annual Microsoft Build conference.
“We are confirming that we will be bringing Xbox Live to the PC with Xbox LIVE on Windows,” said Nelson.
“We have much more detail to share about the capabilities of Xbox LIVE on Windows and look forward to the opportunity to do so in the near future.”
Microsoft have already introduced cross platform achievements with their Games For Windows Live PC download platform and Winodws Phone 7 handsets, so further such cross pollination with the Xbox 360 games console is expected.
As well as gaming, the platform also offers video downloads, Last.Fm music browsing, Twitter and Facebook on the console, among many other features.
