campus-2.jpgIf Carlsberg made office spaces, they’d probably look a lot like Apple’s planned Campus 2 facility. First revealed back in June, new concept images of what looks set to become Apple’s new Cupertino HQ have popped up online.

Dubbed “The Spaceship” due to its 360-degree curved glass fronted walls, Apple Campus 2, the facility will be a 2.8 million square foot space, housing 13,000 employees, a 1,000 seat auditorium, a gym and 300,000 square feet of research facilities and labs.

Underground parking will allow for 80% of the 150 acre property to be covered by trees, while natural gases and other clean energy sources will be managed on site to power Campus 2. Cupertino’s energy grid will only be used as a back-up.

Steve Jobs called Campus 2 “the best office building in the world” when he revealed the plans to the Cupertino City Council back in June, though Apple plan on keeping their current offices, 1 Infinite Loop (with a capactiy of 2,800 employees) too.

Architects Foster and Partners are working with ARUP North America and Kier & Wright engineers to bring the project to completion by 2015.
