Stellar work in the Android mobile field has been boosted by new ventures into tablets with the HTC Flyer and also Windows Phone 7 devices such as the HTC 7 Pro.

Despite having a host of new phones due in time for Christmas, HTC aren’t resting on their cellular laurels either; they’ve just purchased mobile web services platform Dashwire for $18.5 million (£11 million).

HTC are expected to use Dashwire’s knowledge of cloud services to boost their own cloud offerings, as well as plug the holes in the patent portfolio that so often riles the folks over at Apple.
