HTC top dogs must be enjoying the sun on a particularly big yacht this summer, following the news that their company has posted its greatest ever monthly sales report. July 2011 saw HTC make $1.56 billion (£957 million), up 83% on the same month a year earlier.
Stellar work in the Android mobile field has been boosted by new ventures into tablets with the HTC Flyer and also Windows Phone 7 devices such as the HTC 7 Pro.
Despite having a host of new phones due in time for Christmas, HTC aren’t resting on their cellular laurels either; they’ve just purchased mobile web services platform Dashwire for $18.5 million (£11 million).
HTC are expected to use Dashwire’s knowledge of cloud services to boost their own cloud offerings, as well as plug the holes in the patent portfolio that so often riles the folks over at Apple.
