After many a scuffed mobile screen and unintentionally dialled numbers, I’ve got a bit of a softspot for clamshell handsets. So I’ve got to agree with Motorola’s tagline for their new flip phone, the Motorola GLEAM, when they say that “great design never goes out of fashion.”

As well as having a 2MP camera and MP3 playback, this budget blower’s other features include:

WAP 2.0 browser support
SMS, MMS, Email (POP3/IMAP)
32MB Flash/16MB RAM; end user memory>5MB, 800 phonebook, 500 SMS1
microSD supports up to 16GB
2.4″ QVGA display
GSM dual band 900/1800
Bluetooth®2.12 + EDR with A2DP support
Micro USB charging & data (USB 2.0 HS); 3.5 mm audio jack

“Motorola GLEAM is a stylish and fun phone that also offers consumers a number of key entertainment features,” said Andrew Morley, vice president of marketing for Motorola Mobility, international markets. “It’s also a little quirky, with its lighting design letting you stand out from the crowd and make a statement.”

Yours for just £49.95, you can pick it up from Carphone Warehouse. Scroll down for some shots of the phone.
