nokia-x7.jpgUK network operator Three has just confirmed that the Nokia X7 smartphone will be hitting UK shores shortly.

Billed as a premium multimedia handset, the phone comes with a stainless steel chassis, 4 inch touchscreen with OLED Clearblack display, HD video recording and an 8MP snapper with dual LED flasha and zoom.

Most interesting of all though is the fact that the phone will be packing in the latest version of the Symbian OS. We weren’t expecting to see many more updates to the operating system since Nokia jumped in bed with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform, but as many as 50 new enhancements have been made.

This latest version of Symbian, codenamed Anna, has a faster broswer, a full onscreen QWERTY keyboard, and an interesting “split view” mode that allows you to use half the screen for messaging or email and the other half for contacts, web browsing or map apps.

Under the hood ou can fit 32GB of storage with expandable memory, while 256MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM are also included. Ovi Store access is available for app downloads, with the phone pre-loaded with the Galaxy on Fire and Asphalt 5 HD games

A Q2 release date puts this likely at a summer release, some time after June, with a European price tag of 380 Euros. No word on exact UK pricing, but convert that from Euros and you’re looking at around £430.
