There have been biographies about Apple founder Steve Jobs before, but this is the first time he has agreed to participate in the writing. We’re assuming the biblical reference in the title (The Book of Job) is a pun, but considering the level of innovation from iSteve one never knows.

The book will be out early next year, from Simon & Schuster publishers. Walter Isaacson is the author, and he ahs been working on the book since 2009, interviewing Jobs’ friends, family, colleagues and competitors. Isaacson has previously written about Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein.

Jonathan Karp, publisher of Simon & Schuster, said in a statement:

“This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world’s greatest innovators. Just as he did with Einstein and Benjamin Franklin, Walter Isaacson is telling a unique story of revolutionary genius.”

In the past, Jobs has at times reacted strongly to unauthorised biographies; in 2005 he banned works by John Wiley & Sons from Apple’s stores because the publisher was responsible for the book “iCon: Steve Jobs, The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business”.
