One of CES’s worst kept secrets was confirmed today as Motorola announced the Xoom Android tablet. Of all the tablets we have seen today this could be the one that has Mr Jobs looking over his shoulder a little. It runs the very latest version of Google’s Android operating system (that’s Honeycomb to me and you folks) and has a Nvidia Tegra 2 duak core processor – which means that it should run apps very quickly.

It also has a camera on board that can capture 720p high definition footage. Its other big feature is a 10.1 inch screen – which makes it slightly larger than the iPad.

Initial Xooms will run 3G and Wi-Fi but a 4G LTE Xoom will be available in the spring.

No news yet on a UK launch
