A revamped version of last year’s flagship RIM handset, the BlackBerry Torch, is on its way according to BGR.

We’ve already seen the Dakota break cover, and while its form factor may prove to make it the preferred RIM BlackBerry handset of choice over the next few months, the Torch is holding all the cards when it comes to specs.

A 1.2GHz processor is a marked improvement on the original’s 624 MHz Marvell Tavor PXA940, with 512MB of RAM, Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps connectivity.

GPS, 5MP stills camera, NFC, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 640 x 480 3.2 inch screen round out the features in BlackBerry OS 6.1 handset.

Slated for a Q3 2011 launch, expect to hear more on this come next months MWC show.
