You’ve bought your big-screen Android handset, side-loaded all your favourite TV shows and movies onboard, then jumped aboard the train for the morning commute, only to find your device doesn’t recognise the video codecs used.

It’s always a pain, and it can be hard to predict which files will work and which wont.

Enter then VPlayer, a comprehensive Android media app that promises to work with nearly all music and video files, including AVI and MP4 formats.

Though it’s still only in beta-stages, it’s already lookign a promising app, offering subtitle support, pinch controls to change aspect ratio, screen brightness controls and a battery notification.

Formats supported by the VPlayer aside from AVI and MP4 include divx/xvid, wmv, m4v, flv, rmvb, avi, mkv, mov, mp2, 3gp, ts, tp and more.

Grab the app by clicking here, or by scanning the QR code below.
