A pocket of owners of Nokia’s latest flagship smartphone the N8 have been complaining that the handset has a tendency to shut itself off unexpectedly. Nokia have now released a video statement acknowledging the power fault.

“Through our customer care we have heard that a limited number of Nokia N8 customers are experiencing a power down or not power up of the device,” said Nokia’s Excecutive Vice President Niklas Savander. Though it’s only a “small number” off annoyed users according to Savander, he conceded that it is a “significant issue” for those affected.

Nokia have now found and came up with a way to fix the problem, and worried owners will be happy to know the issue is covered by the standard Nokia warranty.

However, it’s yet another blow to Nokia and their flailing smartphone reputation, following only tepid reviews for what was billed as their Lazarus handset.
