Google has updated it’s cloud based word processing web-app, Google Docs. iPhone, Android smartphone and iPad owners will now be able to edit their documents on the go using the new application.

Hitting English speaking countries in the next few days, those with iOS devices on firmware version 3.0 or higher, or using Android Froyo devices, will benefit from the new changes.

Google list the best of the new features as:

– You can work on that important memo…while on the bus or train to work.

– If you’re behind on a group proposal, but really want to make it to the ball game tonight, your whole team can work on it from the bleacher seats.

– You can take minute-by-minute notes at a concert so you’ll always remember the setlist. And your friends can jealously follow in real-time at home.

Real-time, mobile editing does sound pretty nifty. Let us know how you get on with Google Docs for mobile devices when it lands in the next few days.
