The mobile advertising network is set to launch in Europe with brands such as L’Oréal, Renault, Louis Vuitton, Nespresso, Perrier & Unilever already on board.
iAd was launched in the US in July, and within 4 months saw over half of the top national advertisers sign up. The ad network allows third-party developers to directly embed advertisements into their applications. This becomes an effective way of helping monetize free apps and could provide a significant new revenue stream for developers, as they will receive 60% of revenues.
So with the launch of iAd in December it is very possible that we will start to see a lot more free apps available in the app store.
