samsung galaxy tab thumb.jpgWith rumoured prices floating around the £650 mark, we were worried that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab was going to fall at the first hurdle of the tablet race. But thankfully it appears we can put those fears to one side as Carphone Warehouse have just listed up the device for a competitive £530, SIM free.

It’s a price that puts it on level pegging with Apple’s pricing for their 16GB 3G iPad, but of course with the added bonus of being able to make calls, access Flash content, multi-task and use the built-in cameras.

Pair it with a £10 a month data contract from Talk Mobile and you can knock a further £30 off of the price of the hardware. We’d also expect online retailers to be able to undercut this price even further prior to the tablet’s November 1st launch date.

Look’s like the tablet market is really starting to shape up now, with this first major Android release looking to give Apple a run for their money. We’re looking forward to seeing how this battle turns out once we can put the two bits of kit in a head-to-head fight to the tech death. We’ll let you know which comes out on top soon.
