  • What an interesting article, quite full of terrible events that teach us that things can go, as they say, horrendously wrong. While most of these do sound ludicrous and slightly unbelievable, in matter of fact they are not, it’s somewhat good that these happen as they teach us to amend the mistakes of engineering. However, the people’s deaths will rest in peace and be remembered for their contributions to society.

  • The accident you’re describing caused the shuttle to break apart on re-entry, not on launch.

    The most well-known accident did in fact happen on launch and, put simply, was due to a faulty washer which allowed one of the rockets to leak and caused a massive fireball explosion. This is the accident that killed what was going to be the first school teacher in space.
