Samsung have released the first official footage of their highly-anticipated tablet, now confirmed as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. You can view it by clicking here if you have any problems with the embedded video above.

While the short teaser trailer doesn’t go too far into the technical details of the slate, it does confirm some key features of the device.

According to the trailer, Android 2.2 is the operating system of choice on the 7 inch tablet. Video calling will be possible, as will the use of augmented reality applications. Swype typing also looks set to feature.

Samsung don’t miss an opportunity to knock their rivals Apple and their iPad either. The trailer flashes a number of slogans up throughout, one of which reads “Full web browsing”, an obvious dig at the iPad’s lack of Flash support.

So, has the official teaser trailer won you over? Is it a real iPad killer or just another to add to the growing pile of tablet tag-alongs? With the Galaxy Tab getting the full showcase treatment at next month’s IFA 2010 conference in Berlin, at least we wont have to wait long until we find out.
