now mobile thumb.jpgNow Mobile are the latest mobile phone network clamouring to get their SIM cards in your phone. Just launched with a SIM-only Pay As You Go plan, their big selling point is cheap international calls.

“Now Mobile offers competitive rates with no hidden charges and a straight forward, high quality network,” claims their press release.

Despite its Pay As You Go status, you’ll still get internet access and multimedia messaging services from the Now Mobile price plan.

It’s Now Mobile’s international calling options that puts them in direct competition with Lyca Mobile and Lebara however. Offering cheap as chips calls to locations worldwide, they’ve got particularly good rates to Pakistan and Nigeria.

Check the table below for how their rates compare to the rivals.

Of course, these days you’re just as well off using Skype or another VOIP service for making international calls. But when an internet connection isn’t available, deals like Now Mobile’s become very useful.

UPDATE: Word just in from Lebara; their calls to Pakistan are actually 7p a minute for both mobile and landline calls. Wonder if Now Mobile will be able drop below that rate?

  • I have found such a fascinating story here. I think that will get a huge a huge popularity over the people who are mostly looking for affordable calling plans.

  • Maybe if you’d created a table instead of some odd screen grab of the prices you could’ve updated that information. Still, this is pretty much just a glorified press release. I guess the Move unboxing took it out of you to provide any interesting tech news.
