windows phone 7 xbox.jpgXbox Live gaming is one of the biggest selling points in Microsoft’s forthcoming Windows Phone 7 series of mobile phones. With the iPhone currently the dominant force in mobile gaming, Microsoft are looking to rock the boat in their favour by integrating with their hugely successful online game network. And if the pedigree of their just announced list of gaming launch titles is anything to go by, Apple had better look out.

63 games in all have been announced, and some big name franchises are set to make an appearance. Among the most recognisable titles are “Assasins Creed”, “Castlevania”, “Halo Waypoint”, “Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst” as well as a pair of Star Wars games.

While Microsoft have admitted that the majority of titles will be stripped back, turn-based versions of their console counterparts, there are plenty of examples where this is no bad thing. “Puzzle Quest 2” for instance is a turn-based puzzle/RPG hybrid regularly voted as one of the best Xbox Live Arcade titles out there.
