US rapper and showbiz superstar Kanye West has made one unsuspecting Twitter user an online sensation overnight after selecting him as his one-and-only friend on the micro-blogging service.

33 year-old Steven Holmes from Coventry saw his Twitter follower numbers sky-rocket from 60 to 1,500 after West began following him. “You are the chosen one dun dun dun”, said West in a message to Holmes, “Tweet strong young man tweet strong!”

However, the Coventry man confessed that having the spotlight on his account was making him nervous. “I feel pressure with my tweets now”, said Holmes.

Despite only having been using Twitter for just a single week, Kanye West has already reached 380,000 Twitter followers.

In other Twitter-related news, the service celebrated it’s 20 billionth tweet this weekend.
