BBC news new.jpgIt’s been a busy day over on the BBC website. A host of new look pages have been launched, and each now has full social network sharing support added too.

Jump over to the BBC News page and you’ll see that its been given a bit of an overhaul. The top stories are now more prominent, with a dedicated widget on the left hand side for video and audio content. Recommended stories now sit at the bottom whilst navigation controls are now ordered into a bar at the top.

The social features, initially outlined in July, have also been implemented. Each story can now be sent directly to a host of social networks, with dedicated Facebook “Like” and Twitter tweeting buttons at the top of each article.

“We have focused on design and navigation, looking to see how we can make all the existing content we produce each day easier for you to find, use and share,” said BBC News editor Steve Hermann in his blog last week.

So what do you think? Prefer the new look? Or worried that there is yet another source people can quickly clog up your Facebook news stream from? Let us know in the comments below, or via our Twitter page, @techdigestnews.

  • This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. Thanks.

  • I’m not a fan, its too…. everywhere, I’m finding it hard work as before it was quick and simple. With time I’ll get use to it, but I have already gone elsewhere to read the news.
