Apple announce official UK iPad price and release date

iPad and the App StoreApple have just announced that the iPad will be launching in the UK on May 28th, with prices starting at £429 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version.

£499 will bag the 32 GB Wi-Fi iPad, £599 the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad.

3G-enabled iPads will cost £529 for the 16GB model, £599 for 32GB and £699 for the 64GB 3G tablet.

Pre-orders will be taken from May 10th, with Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland also getting the iPad at the same time.

In further good news for UK users who have been waiting patiently for the announcement, the tablet will also be getting the iBooks app store on release date as a free download.

  • Great to see iPAD coming to the UK but I’ll wait for the next version with front facing camera and OLED … hopefully for xmas.

  • Ridiculously over priced for what is essentially a large iPod touch. Aound £300 would be a more reasonable for the entry level model.
